Cop arrested for aiding suspect shot at Sunshine Sudda

A Police Constable attached to the Thalangama Police was arrested for allegedly aiding and abetting the main suspect who shot at underworld figure ‘Sunshine Sudda’ in Weligama.

Police said the constable had allegedly provided transport to the shooter from Athurugiriya to Weligama and then back to Athurugiriya.

Sunshine Sudda, a close associate of Makandure Madush, was killed in the shooting incident on May 30.

The STF arrested the main suspect in the shooting, Jerome Kolitha alias ‘Athurugiriye Jerome’.
