Constitutional Council approves Priyantha Weerasooriya as IGP

Colombo, August 12 (Daily Mirror) - The Constitutional Council has approved the nomination of Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasooriya as the 37th IGP of Sri Lanka, following a recommendation by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Weerasooriya has been serving in an acting capacity since November 2023.
