Clear all stagnant essential food items from ports Immediately: PM

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa instructed the Sri Lanka Customs Director General and the Import, Export Controller General to swing into immediate action to clear all essential food items currently piled up at the port.

He said this during a meeting of the Cost of Living Committee held via 'Zoom'.

The Premier advised to release and distribute the essentials to the general public through the importers of essential goods and Sathosa outlets.
