Chennai-Jaffna flights resume after nearly three years

India's Alliance Air flight touched down at Palali International Airport this morning resuming direct flights between Jaffna and Chennai after a lapse of nearly three years.

The service, experimented in October 2019 and launched in November that year, operated until March 2020, when the pandemic hit the region, forcing governments to shut airports and borders.
