Cabinet approves providing free sanitary pads for 800,000 remote school students

Colombo, April 2 (Daily Mirror) - Cabinet approval was granted to implement a programme to provide sanitary pads free of charge annually from April 2024 to 800,000 female students studying in most remote schools.

The sanitary pads will be distributed among 1.2 million female students who have attained age in remote, isolated, estate and urban schools attended by poor female students.

The total student population in Sri Lanka amounts to four million.
