Cabinet approval to criminalize violation of electoral media guidelines

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved moves to criminalize the violation of media guidelines issued by the Election Commission.

Although media guidelines have been published in accordance with the Article 104b (5)(A) of the Constitution, measures that can be taken in case of violation of the media guidelines have not been enacted so far.

Accordingly the Cabinet of Ministers granted approval to make the violations of the guidelines an electoral offense.
