Colombo, May 14 (Daily Mirror) - Financial compensation amounting to Rs. 8.5 billion will be awarded to 1,898 employees retiring voluntarily under the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) as part of its ongoing restructuring process.
The Ministry of Energy said the special compensation program has been organized to honour long-serving employees of the electricity board who opted for voluntary retirement.
The program, held tomorrow (15) under the theme “A Proud Service - A Safe End,” aims to recognize employees who have rendered distinguished service to the institution over many years.
