CA suspends holding election for CMC and several other LG institutions

Colombo, April 7 (Daily Mirror) - The Court of Appeal today issued an interim injunction preventing any further steps from being taken over the Local Government elections for several Local Government institutions, including the Colombo Municipal Council.

This order was issued by the Court of Appeal upon allowing the hearing of writ petitions filed by several political parties and independent groups against the rejection of their nominations.
