CA revokes interim order on Colombo Municipal Council election

Colombo, April 11 (Daily Mirror) - The Court of Appeal today revoked its earlier interim order issued preventing the relevant Returning Officers from conducting Local Government elections for 18 institutions, including the Colombo Municipal Council.

A Court of Appeal bench, comprising Justice (Acting President) M.T. Mohammed Laffar and Justice K.P. Fernando, made this order after considering a motion filed by the Attorney General.

Accordingly, the Court of Appeal ordered the relevant Returning Officers to accept these nominations that were originally rejected for the 2025 Local Government elections.
