Atmospheric air pollution level subsides:NBRO

Following reports issue by the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) said that the air pollution level in the country's atmosphere is gradually subsiding.

The moderate air pollution level (acceptable air quality) was indicate in Jaffna and Dambulla. Under the moderate level they said some pollutants may be existent and health concern for a very few people who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.

Kegalle and Battaramulla experienced unhealthy air quality conditions which sensitive for people who experience health effects.

The air quality in Puttalam, Mullaitivu, Badulla, Mannar and Polonnaruwa found to be satisfactory where the Air Pollution poses little or no risk. However, unhealthy air quality was reported in Hambantota district.

The NBRO wans that people may begin to experience health effects and sensitive groups may experience more serious health difficulties.

Yesterday, the pollutant level in the atmosphere was at record high. The report, further said the situation in Badulla city is at a dangerous level. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
