Apply for passports only for urgent needs

Colombo ,October 29 (Daily Mirror)- Cabinet spokesman and Minister Vijitha Herath today requested that public to apply for passports at the Immigration & Emigration Department only for urgent matters.

Addressing the media, he stated that those needing passports for long-term purposes can wait, as the Department has received sufficient stocks.

Currently, a total of 1,600 passports are being issued daily at the Department to meet the demand.
