Another MP tests Covid positive

SLPP Kurunegala District MP Asanka Navarathna said he has been tested COVID 19 positive.

Navaratana in his Facebook post confirmed that he has been tested positive and requested his contacts to go for a self-quarantine. “I request all those who were in physical contact with me to go for self quarantine for a few days,” he said in his facebook post.

MP Nawarathna told the Daily Mirror that he and his daughter have been tested positive and have been asked to remain at home as they have no symptoms.

He is the second MP to be tested positive within the last few days and the tenth parliamentarian overall to be tested positive during this month.

Meanwhile Serjeant-at-Arms Narendra Fernando said party leaders will meet on Thursday September 2 to decide whether Parliament sessions should be confined to one day in a week or to have it on all four days.(Yohan Perera)
