Amaraweera calls for death penalty

Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said that the death penalty should be brought back to deal with the rise of drug abuse in Sri Lanka.

“There is now an Act to mete out the harshest penalty for the possession of drugs. This government will not allow any person, regardless of their rank or status to go free,” he said.
