Ajith P. Perera questions AKD’s decision to pardon convict ten days after verdict

Colombo, June 7 (Daily Mirror) - Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Ajith P. Perera questioned the action by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to grant a pardon to a person just ten days after his conviction. 

"The suspect who was found guilty by the Anuradhapura High Court on May 2 for  misappropriating Rs. 4 million, was pardoned by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Vesak Poya Day, just ten days after his conviction.

"How did the President grant a pardon to Athula Thilakaratne," he questioned.
