Accused sentenced to death

Colombo, May 19 (Daily Mirror) - An accused indicted with murder was found guilty and sentenced to death by Anuradhapura Predecessor High Court Judge Lakmali Hewawasam.

The accused A.G.Milan Kumara (33) of Habarana had on November 1915, stabbed to death a resident of the area W.Oshan Maduranga (22).

After non-summary proceedings in the Kekirawa Magistrate’s Court, he was ordered to stand trial in the High Court. Delivering the judgment, the High Court Judge held that the prosecution had established charges against the accused beyond reasonable doubt. State Counsels Charmika Guruge and Yomali Nagodavithana prosecuted while Attorney at Law Lewke Bandara appeared for the accused. Former JMO Anuradhapura teaching hospital
