60 soldiers hospitalized

Sixty soldiers attached to several camps in Pollonnaruwa were hospitalized due to food poisoning after their lunch today. Besides, 40 others were cured by medical personnel attached to the military.

Military spokesman Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasuriya said that these soldiers fell sick after consuming their desert served along with lunch.

The Army is further investigating into the incident. (Sanath Desmond)
