50 rounds of ammunition found in Athurugiriya police raid

Colombo, April 18 (Daily Mirror) - Police have recovered 50 rounds of live ammunition used for T56 firearms, along with sharp weapons, based on a tip off received by the Athurugiriya police.

A suspect aged 25 years old, taken into custody is a resident of Athurugiriya.

Athurugiriya police said the suspect was arrested on April 12, with 11 grams and 1,000 milligrams of Crystal methamphetamine (ICE) in his possession.

Meanwhile, the suspect was subsequently detained under a detention order, and during further questioning and investigations police recovered the live ammunition and sharp weapons on April 17 based on information the suspect provided.

Athurugiriya police are conducting further investigations.
