30,000 Kg of Veggies destroyed

Over 30,000 Kilos of vegetables were destroyed this morning at the Dambulla Economic Centre, traders at the Centre said.They said that the stock of vegetables were destroyed due to lack of demand for the goods. Traders also revealed that there is an extra supply of vegetables for which no demand exists and since the good are perishable they have no option but to destroy them. ( Kanchana Kumara)
