13 dead due to rain and strong winds

The death toll from yesterday's rain and strong winds has risen to 13 and authorities are still unable to trace the missing fishermen.

The Met Department advised fishermen to refrain from going to sea for fishing as a low pressure condition has developed in the lower atmosphere of the island.

Meanwhile, the Navy has launched search operations to find the fishermen missing since yesterday.
