Tamil liberals who were expecting strong action against the Mahinda regime at the Geneva Human Rights Commission sessions are now disappointed. Some of them have now turned towards the Lankan society and started analysing the roles played by the Sinhala politicians and diplomats. They have realised that Dayan Jayathilaka is an ardent Sinhala nationalist. Though he puts on the show of a great intellectual and diplomat, they say, that deep in his heart he believes that Sri Lanka belongs to the Sinhala. They ridicule the claim made by Sinhala diplomats that in the past, they acted brilliantly, so they were able to keep the Tamils and Prabhakaran at bay.

These diplomats have failed to see the role played by India in wanting to see the Tigers destroyed at any cost and helping the Sinhalese to finish them off. If it was a game between Anton Balasinghaam and Prabhakaran on one side, and Sinhala diplomats and Sinhala bourgeoisie politicians on the other side, then the results could have been different. However no game was good enough for Sonia and her Arya Brahmin clique that fell short of the LTTE laying down their arms and abandoning the Tamils to the mercy of the Sinhala army. Obviously, Prabhakaran was not willing to do so.

If the government avoids implementing the LLRC recommendations the problem will continue and the next war may involve mini atomic bombs, because it could be a modern development of the Ramayana where Aryans and Dravidians fought to decide the future of Maha Bharat

It is somewhat strange to see Tamil liberals blaming Sinhala diplomats for not showing any sympathy to the up-country Tamil workers who were deported. After all, Tamil liberals at the time of independence voted with the government to disfranchise the Tamil workers. However the modern Tamil liberals claim that, after all the sacrifices the Indian Tamils made in developing Sri Lanka, disfranchising them and deporting them to India, was a crime against humanity. Also, they reaffirm that the government colonisation of the Tamil homeland with Sinhala settlers, and reducing the Tamils to second class citizens, were the root causes of the civil war and the birth of the LTTE and Prabhakaran. They raise the question as to how defending his people against Sinhala oppression and fighting for their rights has earned for Prabhakaran the title of terrorist; while, murdering over 70,000 Tamil men, women and children in cold blood and depriving them of food by the Sinhala armed forces had not brought any condemnation from the entire Sinhala diplomatic community.

On the other hand the Lankan diplomats have claimed that in no other part of the world an independent, international investigation was demanded from a sovereign nation.

Obviously there is no answer and the question is invalid. We have to find out the method of unification. As Lenin clearly indicated, there is only one rule that can protect both traditions and living together, that is the recognition of the right of self determination.
