Stop Milking Consumers Through Hidden Food Delivery Fees

Food delivery apps have become a lifeline for busy, middle-class families. But the final bill is often far higher than the menu price we first see. On top of delivery charges—which we accept—customers are hit with a barrage of extras: small order fees, handling fees, and even so-called high order fees. Why a handling fee? Isn’t handling part of the job already built into the cost? And why punish consumers during “rush hours” when more orders mean more business and bigger profits for these companies? These hidden charges are nothing short of exploitation dressed up as fine print. The Consumer Affairs Authority must step in now to curb this practice and demand transparency. Food delivery is no longer a luxury—it’s part of everyday life. And consumers deserve honesty, not surprise charges.
