Incredible as it may seem, the Sathosa supermarket outlet at Borella has been without air conditioning for almost a month now. In this terrible heat, lack of A/C puts both customers and staff in great discomfort. Customers may spend just a few minutes inside, buying what they need and getting out quickly. But the staff work long shifts, and have no option but to suffer all day long. It seems that Sathosa has no A/C maintenance section, unbelievable as it may seem for such a massive organisation which even imports vehicles. I was told about an attempt at repair recently; but the A/C system broke down again after a day. What kind of maintenance is this? Staffers say no general manager has stepped into this outlet in years. In all (privately owned) supermarkets, breakdown of air conditioning is an unheard of thing; maintenance is carried out properly. Why can’t Sathosa manage this?
Sathosa outlets are also short of many items that other supermarket chains consider to be essential (fish, vegetables and fruits, for example). Some of the available items are of poor quality. Looks like the management treats both customers and staff with disrespect, denying them the basic right of shopping and working in relative comfort.
