Singer Asha Bhosle’s daughter Varsha, who was reportedly suffering from depression, shot herself in the head with a pistol at her mother's Peddar Road home on Monday morning. She was 56, said the police, she was found lying in a pool of blood on a sofa of her living room by Bhosle’s driver at around 10.30am.
Domestic help Deepali Mane had alerted the driver after Varsha, who was alone in the house, did not answer the doorbell. The driver entered the flat through Bhosle's elder sister and singer Lata Mangeshkar’s adjacent house.
No suicide note was found, the police said, adding they were trying to find out in whose name the Belgian-made pistol was registered in.
Varsha, who sang for some Hindi and Marathi films besides appearing in concerts with her mother, reportedly tried to end her life in 1998 and 2008.
She was the second of Bhosle's three children with first husband Ganpatrao Bhosle. Varsha, who also wrote for magazine and web portals, was married to a sports writer but the marriage ended in 1998.
Bhosle, who was in Singapore, was rushing back home, sources close to the family said. (Source: Hindustan Times)

Human life is very valuable and no one has the right to take it under any circumstances. Not even one's own life.

See the fate of highly influential people's children ending their lives by them self. This is what Lord Buddha has preached that "happiness" is the most significant wealth in a life of a person. Without that whatever the wealth or status you have are no avail.
