During my visit to the United Kingdom, I came across a customer care initiative in UK supermarkets where they provided a free notice board for customers to place adverts .....buy, sell, or give away items or wanted items.
This not only helped customers declutter their homes but also fostered a sense of community. I used this service to buy a nearly new laptop during my visit – it’s working perfectly.
In Sri Lanka, we often see advertisements in newspapers for buying and selling items, or houses for rent, which can be costly. But not in Supermarkets as in foreign countries.
I believe that providing a similar notice board in supermarkets would be a great way to support customers and encourage them to shop more frequently.
By offering this service, Supermarkets can:
A. Help customers get rid of unwanted gifts without incurring additional costs.
B. Encourage customers to visit your store more often.
C. Foster a sense of community among your customers.
Ads could be half A4 size paper to be handed over to the manager for approval for 10 days’ display free of charge.
This would not only benefit your customers but also enhance store’s reputation as a customer-centric business.
