The latest in the education reforms process is the gay website controversy. Even though some might call it a typo, the government has launched an investigation into it. Sometimes, we have too many investigations but no satisfactory outcomes. There are committees being appointed for all sorts of things; from taking action against an individual to investigating corruption and so on. People sometimes wonder whether the government has enough people to allocate to various committees to resolve matters of public interest. Academics have been campaigning for appropriate education reforms over the past many years. The incumbent government appeared to be interested in these reforms during its election campaign. But certain new additions such as introducing sex education have been frowned upon by the clergy. Now it is about the inclusion of the name of a gay website in the Grade 6 English language module. So while these investigations are ongoing, school syllabi need to be upgraded so that children would fare well in their education and life.
