Clean Sri Lanka betrayed by political posters

The Clean Sri Lanka initiative that began with such fanfare has quietly faded. The early displays of politicians cleaning public spaces have stopped, exposing the effort as little more than a photo opportunity. Its collapse is clear from the walls now plastered with posters for the “Il Mahaviru Commemoration” —desecrating the countryside, the very vandalism the government vowed to end. This is plain hypocrisy. You cannot preach cleanliness while allowing political posters to deface the country. If Clean Sri Lanka is to survive, it needs action — not slogans, not ceremonies. Practice what you preach.
