Sri Lanka College of Microbiologists elects new office bearers

Dr. Sujatha Pathirage, the outgoing President, awarding the President’s medal to the incoming President, Dr. Jayanthi P. Elwitigala.

The Sri Lanka College of Microbiologists elected its new office bearers for the 2025/2026 term at its Annual General Meeting held recently.   

Dr. Jayanthi P. Elwitigala was elected President, while Dr. Sarnanmalee P. Gunasekara was chosen as President-Elect. Dr. Dhammika Vidanagama will serve as Vice President, and Dr. Sujatha Pathirage will continue as Immediate Past President.   

Following members were elected as office bearers.   

Secretaries – Dr. Jayathri Galappaththi, Dr. Deneeta Shanthakumara   

Co-Treasurers – Dr. Sumudu Suranadee, Dr. Harshani Thabrew   

Co-Editors – Dr. Roshan Jayasuriya, Dr Subodha Wickramasinghe   

Council Members – Dr. Madhumanee Abeywardena, Prof. Jananie Kottahachchi, Dr. K. Dhananja Namalie, Dr. Gayathri Nahalla, Dr. Nadee Sugathadasa, Dr. Rohitha Muthugala, Dr. Indira Fonseka
