Ninnada’s 20th anniversary celebrated in grand style

The awards ceremony and the celebration of Ninnada’s 20th anniversary took place in grand style at the Temple Trees on November 7, with former Chairman of the Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Organized by the Media Club of D. S. Senanayake College, Colombo, Ninnada marked its 20th consecutive year as one of the country’s premier inter-school media festivals. The competition, held earlier on August 23, drew the participation of over 2,500 aspiring young media students representing more than 200 schools nationwide.  

Mahamaya Girls’ College, Kandy, emerged as the overall champion of the competition, while Richmond College, Galle, secured the runners-up position. The Media Unit of Carey College, Colombo, was recognized as the Most Popular School Media Unit of the Year.  

Meanwhile, the R.I.T. Ales Memorial Award for the Most Outstanding School Media Personality of the Year was presented to Aritha Devwin of Bandaranayake College, Gampaha, in recognition of his exceptional performance and contribution to school media activities.
