In search of victims....

At a time when public officials are being criticised for lethargy and lack of commitment, both their commitment and dedication were amply demonstrated during the rescue and relief work during the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah which battered the country in late November. 

The Divisional Secretary for Karuwalagaswewa Ms.S. Matharaarachchi and her team of field officers are seen traversing a muddy stream on a single trunk of a fallen tree to reach a house in the Neelabemma area in her Division to collect details of flood victims to provide them with much needed relief.
