- The newly appointed Cabinet of Ministers consist of both young and veteran politicians
Following widespread public anger over the worsening economic crisis in Sri Lanka, the Cabinet of Ministers resigned en-masse on April 3. The following day, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa appointed four ministers to maintain the affairs of the Parliament and other functions of the country until a full Cabinet is appointed.
With many in the opposition rejecting the President’s invitation to join the government in finding solutions to the ongoing crisis, on Monday a 17 member Cabinet of Ministers were sworn in. The Cabinet of Ministers’ mission is to provide all support services efficiently to the decision making process in fulfilling duties pertaining to the direction and control of the government. Their objective is to assist lawmakers and sub-committees of Parliament while making recommendations. In other words, the Cabinet is a body of senior ministers responsible and answerable to Parliament. The newly appointed Cabinet of Ministers consist of both young and veteran politicians, while a few have been elevated to senior ranks with little experience.

They come from a grand school in which people like the Hon. Kadirgama was educated. But they are louts at heart. You can take the beast out of the jungle, but you cannot take the jungle out of the beast - this is pure proof of that.

Loaded Buddha, Jesus nor prophet Mohamed attend 'great' schools nor obtain fancy qualifications yet ask Google 'who is the greatest man in history?' and you get the above names. Shouldn't we ponder why? Yet we chase these useless accolades given by man for man's own needs and then give it more credence than the most important qualities a person should possess to be great. None of these baffons in the cabinet will ever be great nor will the 225 1. So let's not waste our time and energy on them.

Fantastic to see the correlation between their education and the appointed portfolio. Great to also see an all male line-up, and NO females... This should result in a government with the emotional intelligence of a crocodile...
