This year’s Bauddhaloka Literary Festival will recognise the best in print, audio and audiovisual media, as well as digital creations of Buddhist songs
An awards ceremony will be held to recognise the Buddhist mission accomplished by journalists in this country. This year’s Bauddhaloka Literary Festival will recognise the best in print, audio and audiovisual media, as well as digital creations of Buddhist songs. Organised by the Colombo Bauddhaloka Foundation, this appreciation event has been expanded to several categories this year. These awards are to be presented to outstanding Buddhist creations presented in the media, including newspapers, radio and television. The jury will consider creations made during the end of year 2025. Accordingly, media creators who have created work related to Buddhist themes that were published or broadcast by the media during the relevant period will have an opportunity for recognition. This is the second year that a Buddhist Literature Festival has been held.
It is also noteworthy that the Bauddhaloka Organizing Committee has decided to recognise outstanding creations in the new media field, as well as Buddhist songs and Buddhist paintings. The winners of the best works selected here will receive their awards at the Buddhist Literature Festival, scheduled for October (2026) in Colombo. All designs are evaluated by a panel consisting of university professors, scholars and experts in relevant fields.
The closing date for submissions is 30 June 2026 and the necessary details and applications can be obtained from the website www.bauddhaloka.org. Further information can also be obtained by calling 070 1046817 or emailing [email protected].
