S.P.G. Pemalal Wasantha Kumara, 42, a father of two children is suffering from a chronic kidney disease. Premalal is a resident of Getalawa, Galenbindunuwewa in Anuradhapura District. He has been advised to undergo a kidney transplant surgery following kidney dialysis by Dr. Harshani Perera at District General Hospital in Polonnaruwa. Premalal seeks your financial assistance to collect Rs. 2 million for the kidney transplant surgery.

What the hell is this? Is this the free healthcare system that our politicians praise? Patients have to go begging for a transplant. Politicians fly to Singapore for surgery. The health system in Sri Lanka is completely eroded and corrupt through and through. The only thing that helps here is compulsory health insurance for everyone whose contributions have to be based on income. For poor people who cannot afford the contributions, the state has to pay the minimum contribution.
