HNB Brings Hope and Smiles to Children across Sri Lanka by concluding “Nana Savi Mehewara” after Ditwah Cyclone

HNB PLC successfully concluded Nana Savi Mehewara, a nationwide relief initiative launched in response to Cyclone Ditwah.

HNB leveraged its greatest strength, its unparalleled island-wide presence, to mobilize a national relief effort almost overnight. Within        24 hours, the Bank transformed its network of 257 branches, 16 regional offices and Head Office into a coordinated collection and distribution system which was accessible daily, making it easy for people across Sri Lanka to contribute.

This rapid activation created one of the country’s largest school-supply donation drives, ensuring that over 6500 packs of school supplies reached affected children quickly and seamlessly in response to Cyclone Ditwah.

The initiative united customers, employees and communities across the country, enabling the swift collection and seamless distribution of vital school supplies which reflects HNB’s commitment to safeguard education and supporting children who are the future of the nation.
