Lou Ching Wong Model of The Year 2025 @ Galle Face Hotel

Model of The Year 2025, the brainchild of designer and choreographer Lou Ching Wong, was recently held at the Galle Face Hotel, Colombo. The evening celebrated new talent in fashion and style, with Ayesha Gamage and Brandon Perera taking home the top female and male titles.

The event was supported by Invest Bridge Fund, led by CEO Oshada Edirisinghe, with Galle Face Hotel Colombo as the hospitality partner and DB Ceylon as co-sponsor. Media partners included Lite 87.8, Kiss FM, Siyatha TV and Hi!! Magazine, while official photography was by Prishan Pandithage Studios.

Entertainment came from Shanelle Fernando and Tymeron Carvalloh, while partners such as Bellose, Lora by Alaris, Be Waxed, Macho for Me, Stretch and Tone and British Cosmetics added their expertise. Designers showcased standout collections with swimwear by Rachel Raj – Sarita Rajendran and Linea Aqua, ethnic wear by Kamsins, and evening wear by Ruchira K and Maas Luxury, with décor by Shine by Sanjeewani. Styling was perfected by Ramani Fernando Salons and Salon Ramzi.

The show was hosted by Vrai Raymond and Kumar de Silva, with judging panels comprising respected names such as Yashoda Wimaladharma, Dhananjaya Bandara, Sangeetha Weeraratne, Suresh Abbas, Shyamalee Tudawe, Koluu, Nushara Fernando and Kay Ng.

With over four decades in this industry, I want to give back to society what I am best at. It is important to guide and educate the youth of our country so that they go out into this industry with proper knowledge before they actually get into the business. My training not only is for models but to develop their confidence and personalities. I was blessed by so many people who came forward to hold my hand and help me with this journey, I want to continue to support the industry and upgrade it in any way I can.
