Tear gas and water cannons were fired at the protesters who broke the barricades at the private residence of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

People are seen pelting stones towards the police and other armed forces.

    This is not a way to deal with this issue . Government is behaving with a lackadaisical attitude while people are suffering ..either they have to call for early election or they find some remedies for this crisis . There's no point in blaming people at this time. They have been maintaining Torrance and yet how long ? It is really utter frustration . People are asking for basic needs and necessities. If government can't do it give the leadership to some one who can do it . Each day is precarious day

    People really dont get it. This is a dollar crisis. You can protest all you want but unless Sri Lanka earns dollars we cannot buy petrol or diesel or gas. Only ways to earns dollars is tourism, remittances and investments. Now with all this violence you are making the situation much worse.
