Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe's private residence on 5th Lane in Colombo has been set on fire by the protestors.
A group of protestors entered his house a short while ago and set the place on fire after a tense situation erupted between the protestors and security forces on the ground.
Several journalists were also attacked by the security forces after which more protestors gathered in the area.
Despite tear gas being fired on the protestors to disperse, they entered his house and set the house on fire.
Meanwhile, Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) fire brigade said they were informed that the Prime Minister's private residence in Colombo was set on fire and its teams were unable to reach the location due to the unrest.

The whole day thousands and thousands protesters were protesting peacefully. Did they set fire to anything or caused any vandalism during the entire day? Why now?

You hurt the People by showing who you support. Shame on you STF and the police for hitting the Journalists and other people. You opened a can of worms to a peaceful protest and day. May you all end up in hell for what you did. Ranil's house would have been saved if it was not for you guys angering the protestors

Setting fire to his private residence is not acceptable at all. Protesters also test the patience of the security forces and after that they shout saying that the security forces are hitting them!! Aragalayata jayawewa but provocation that leads to violence is not acceptable under any circumstances!
