Some US$ 28 million worth of medicines and clinical equipment donated by the Chinese government arrived at the Katunayake International Airport last night.
The cargo of medicinal drugs and equipment, including 14 essential medicines that were in dire need brought in.
Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong, Health Services Director General Dr. Asela Gunaratne and many other distinguished guests were present at the Airport to receive the consignment.
The Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka said that the drugs have been donated by the Chinese Government as well as various community organizations including various Buddhist foundations functioning in that country. (T.K.G.Kapila)
