Amids claims of some Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLPP) politicians of a possible aligning with the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) in a future election, the JVP today dismissed any such possibility claiming that they were not ready to align with the two main parties or anyone who had been part of them.

JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva told media that the JVP was not ready to join hands with those who contributed to the debacle the country was put into by being in the two main parties while enjoying ministry portfolios.

“Some members in the government are finding ways to get away when the government is in trouble. We will not allow those who abandon the sinking ship. The JVP has no connection with those who were in the two main parties and contributed to the destruction of the country,” he said.

When asked that some politicians were claiming that they were fraud and corruption-free, he said they should show it in practice rather than in words.

Mr. Silva said they were inviting the provincial level members of the main parties to join hands with the JVP and people who really want to change this failed political system.

While taking part in a protest organised by the JVP in Maharagama against the rising cost of living and fuel prices, he said the government should reduce fuel prices without further burdening the people.

“People who are finding it difficult to make ends meet were further burdened due to the increase in the fuel prices. The government should clarify as to why the fuel prices were increased when the fuel prices are on the decline in the global market?” he questioned.(Ajith Siriwardana)

Yes do not make pact with any of these guys. But if you are honest then you can do. But if you are also controlled by foreign hand then , finish.

Good decision by JVP. You have a great leader who can develop this country. He is the Mr. Clean. Go ahead. you will win this time

Give them a chance Friday, 24 December 2021 06:16 AM

Dayasiri’s credibility was described by G L Peris once in parliment. Dayasiri was his coordinating secretary and he was the minister of textile. He described how Dayasiri sold textile quotas to businessmen and earned a massive some.

JVP should stand alone . SLFP should get back and join Pohottuwa since both parties consist of rouges.

Now the hungry JVPers are dreaming of building empires for their families and friends, one such sample of JVP is Wimal Weerahorawansa, just imagine how many Wimals will be there in JVP. It will be for them Sahdookin Pelenau den itin Negitiau.

Decision is good not align with failed political parties, but there are politicians who are educated, efficient and without black marks. Possible solution may be to get them all and form a new alliance.

Jvp cannot leave UNP if they do Ranil will tell Malik to tell what they gave in the toilet during Yahapalanaya

JVP also looks like a party greedy for power although they profess to be otherwise. They too were responsible for exceeding the right to protest by resorting to terrible violence and destruction of property . The need is for the good people of all parties to combine at this critical time. I am quite sure JVP will never be able to get 115 MPS elected to form a govt. So why this idiotic pronouncement.

Bhatiya Siriwardena Friday, 24 December 2021 09:12 AM

JVP is thinking so highly of themselves getting carried away. Hm..

Zulkifli Nazim Friday, 24 December 2021 12:06 PM

Very good decision. The JVP is now gaining popularity and as usual the SLFP malady wants to place its hand on the JVP flagpole. JVP aligning itself with the SLFP, will be like injecting malignant cancer cells in to its organization. It's better JVP moves on its own steam.

Lasa Perera Friday, 24 December 2021 02:39 PM

Good Move. Don't join with sinking corrupted political parties. Future is good for NPP. Next government will be NPP.
