Central Province (CP) Governor Lalith U Gamage today granted permission to conduct a feasibility study for the proposed cable car project as a suitable solution to reduce traffic congestion and pollution in Kandy city.
The decision was taken following a discussion held at the Governor's office today with the Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka, Eric Lavertu.
The Governor of the Central Province stated that the province has received support for a number of projects, such as the Matale Water Project, under French provisions, and thanked the French country for that. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

Seriously? Our people are too lazy to park 100m away and walk to a location or need to hop a tuk to go 300-400m from home to bus stand. You think they are going to use a cable car for daily commute? Even if the service is provided for free.

Will it be given to Chinese company ?. Or Indian company?.or Sri Lankan company? Who do it? For the sake of health and safety it would be good to give to a Japanese or western company..
