Bus skids off road: several injured

A Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus plying to Hanwella from Negombo met with an accident on the Wathurugama bus route in Gampaha this morning. The bus skidded off the road due to its speed, police said. 70 passengers were on board during the accident and the injured were admitted to the Gampaha base hospital. Pix by Kushan Pathiraja

Agreement signed to construct US$ 400 mn multi-story commercial and logistics center

An agreement was signed between the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), China Merchant Port Holdings (CM Port) and Access Engineering PLC for the development of a USD 400milion multi-story commercial and logistics center took place today at Ministry of Ports & Shipping, under the patronage of Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva. This is a BOI project which will greatly benefit the Sri Lankan economy and it is the first such project in Sri Lanka.
