Two suspects detained

• No lawyer had appeared for the suspects
• A panel of lawyers watched the interests of the aggrieved party.

The two suspects taken into custody in connection with the murder of Attorney at Law Buddhika Mallawarahchci and his wife at Akuregoda in Thalangama were produced yesterday before Kaduwela Magistrate Indrajith Buddhadasa and detained till today on court order for further questioning.  

Western (South) Crime Investigation Division moved for detention order to further interrogate the suspects for 48 hours.  A panel of lawyers including President’s Counsel Rienzie Arsakularatne and President of the Sri Lanka Bar Association Attorney lawyer Rajeev Amarasuriya watched the interests of the aggrieved party.  

No lawyer had appeared for the suspects.
