Two persons with vested interests out to prevent proper UNP, SJB political alliance: Ravi K

There are two people with vested interests who are out to prevent a genuine alliance between the United National Party (UNP) and Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), opposition MP Ravi Karunanayake said yesterday.   

“One of these persons are only interested in security high positions. I will reveal the names of these persons shortly and will not come up with details now,” MP Karunanayake told media.   

“I have talked to UNP seniors including Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, Harin Fernando, Navin Dissanayake and Manusha Nanayakkara. I asked them as to how we are going to form a proper alliance in a given situation. However I could not speak to UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe as he was going out of the island,” he said.   

“What is needed is a genuine effort to build up an alliance between the UNP and SJB.
