Sri Lanka Celebrates 77th Independence Day

The official ceremony to mark the 77th Independence Day of the Democratic Socialist Republic of 
Sri Lanka got off the ground at the Independence Sqaure yesterday morning. The event saw the participation of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, visiting foreign dignitaries, diplomats, military personnel, religious leaders and politicians.
