Liquor shops record increased sales on Aswesuma day

Owners of liquor shops in several areas in the up country said their income shoots up on Aswesuma payment day in a large proportion when compared to the previous days.   

They said this situation prevails in the rural and urban areas as well. Owners of liquor shops pointed out that the Aswesuma recipients spend the money for liquor without concern about the family constraints. They further said they have no issue since Aswesuma recipients are considered as customers and the source of their income is immaterial.
