First sperm bank in the country to be open at Castle Hospital

• Male individuals could donate sperm to the bank and they would be subject to a medical examination

The Castle Hospital for Women at Borella has taken steps to establish the first ever sperm bank in the country.   

Hospital Director Dr. Ajith Danthanarayana said it is the first ever sperm bank in the country.

He said the services provided by the sperm bank would be strictly private and confidential.   

Dr. Danthanarayana further said male individuals could donate sperm to the bank and that they would be subject only to a medical examination. He said the identity of the individuals who donate sperm would not be revealed under any circumstance.
