17 youths arrested at party in Matara

Seventeen youths including an actress were arrested early morning yesterday when they were using cocaine and  unidentified drug tablets in two hotel rooms in Polhena, Matara after a Facebook party at another hotel in Mirissa.  

More than 1500 people have participated in the Facebook party and these 17 youth had gone to the Polhena hotel while the party was still going on.   
The party which had been planned to be held till Sunday evening had abruptly been stopped after the word spread about the arrest of these 17 men and women, police said.   

Police apprehended 1.55 grammes of Cocaine and 250 milligrammes of an unidentified drugs from the arrested youth which include an AL student of a school in Matara.    Others are residents of Matara, Colombo, Panadura, Ja-Ela, Mabole and Wattala, according to police. They are to be produced before the Matara Magistrate today.
