COLOMBO (Daily Mirror) - Left and eight arm spin duo Thanuga Palihawadana and Sethru Fernando shone for Thurstan College against St. Peter’s College in the Under 19 Division One Tier ‘B’ segment limited over tournament semi final encounter as the duo guided the side to achieve a close 11 runs win in a low scoring match played at the Army grounds in Panagoda today.
The duo shared six wickets between them to help the Thurstanites defend their low score of 148 runs which came on the back of a half ton by Thanuja Rajapakse to bowl out the Peterites for just 137 runs. In fact it was sweet revenge for the Thurstanites who avenged their defeat to their opponents St. Peter’s in the final last year. Thurstan will now meet Lumbini MV in the final scheduled to be played this week.
