congratulations. However I am wondering all our hard work on education has not resulted in tangible contribution to the economy which is shouldered by blue collar workers and not by highly educated professionals

It is a matter of memorizing the text books. If you write the same versions you are sure to pass the exams. When I was in the school in Sri Lanka, I had to do the same. When I came Europe for further studies, I found the mistakes of our education system. I was again a beginer and had to learn from the start.
