Vedda Chief turns 79

Vedda Chief Uruwarige Wannila Ettho celebrated his 79th birthday on Sunday (14) at his home in Dambana in a grand ceremony, with Mahiyangana Divisional Secretary Wimansa Seneviratne attending as chief guest. The Maha Sangha, including the Chief Incumbent of the Gurukumbura Jana Uruma Temple, Ven. Galporuyaye Pradeepawansa Thera, chanted Seth Pirith and invoked blessings on the Indigenous leader.
