Tribute paid to T. B. Ilangaratne



Marking 70 years since May Day was declared a public holiday in Sri Lanka, a tribute was paid to T. B. Ilangaratne, a distinguished leader who championed the rights and dignity of workers.

The commemorative event was attended by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, along with several political leaders, representatives, and supporters.

Speakers at the event highlighted the enduring spirit and invaluable contribution of Sri Lanka’s working people, emphasizing the importance of continuing to uphold labour rights and social justice in line with the legacy of past leaders.
